Zhazi is the resident story teller.

Hi! I'm Zhazi. I'm 45 and now living in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, with my new hubby, David. How I got here still amazes me! I owe it all to Tom3^ (who used to come to this channel a lot!) Tom3^ (from Ottawa, Canada), came to visit me in Seattle (my home then) July 4, 1998. Since he was heading for Alaska, I offered to drive up to the Vancouver BC airport and show him around the area, before driving him down to Seattle later that evening. It was while I was waiting for him in the Baggage Claim area, that I met my new husband! (Isn't life amazing??)

I have been trying to adjust to this new lifestyle here in Canada. I am now a University Professor's wife, and since I never went to college, I was afraid I would be too "ignorant" around his colleagues. So far so good! *phew* This is a foreign land to me! It's a nightmare when I go to the grocery store and have to convert pounds to kilograms, or gallons to litres of gasoline... OR how about when you have to read the teeny-tiny print on the food boxes with everything in half English, half French?? I have a heck of a time reading the Bisquick boxes now!! Then there's the SNOW... I also miss all my friends and family down in the states. I am a "prisoner" here until my Immigration papers go through. My kids (Nissa, 22 and Richie, 19), have to fly up here to visit me until I am able to go down there again.

We were married on February 27, 1999. (The picture is from our wedding reception at our house.) I live a Cinderella life, with a wonderful man, in a wonderful home. He does a fair bit of traveling with his job at the University, and he takes me with him! *sigh* That is why you guys hardly see me anymore in the channel! When winter hits, I'll be there more often!
